Topic : “Finding myself in relationship with the world around me”, using dialogues.
At Srushti Degree College, in connection with 150 years of Gandhiji’s anniversary, we are exploring the theme of Honesty for three years. Last year our theme was Honesty, this year it is ‘Finding yourself in relation to world around you’.
Gandhiji talks about finding ourselves in the other. He writes, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” - Mahatma Gandhi. We are incomplete in ourselves, but as we connect with others we develop a deeper understanding of the other and in the process deepen and widen our own lives.
There is a big difference between the “naked mineness” of individualism and the idea of becoming an individual who seeks to uncover, what is a true identity in relation to the needs of others.
Workshop co-facilitated by Lakshmi Hariharan and students trained in Youth Social Innovation.
